DAVE WRIGHT, SENIOR CONSULTANT

Amusement Retail Resources specializes in small- to moderate-sized operations and has a thorough knowledge of park and amusement operations. Dave Wright, Senior Consultant with Amusement Retail Resources, has worked in USA as well as Asia, bringing more than 35 years experience in the industry.

In 1980, Dave began his career with Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey, USA, a park attracting attendance of 3 million guests per year. As a Supervisor in the Food Service department Dave covered operations in Fast Food, Specialty Foods and Catering.

In 1986, Dave accepted the position of Manager of Food Services with the National Zoo in Washington DC. This Smithsonian attraction draws in excess of 4 million guests per year.

In 1988, Dave was hired as Director of Revenue at Oklahoma City’s Frontier City, managing Food Service, Retail, Games and Lessee operations. Under Dave’s direction, over a 4 year period revenue would increase 238%.

In 1992, Dave travelled to Southeast Asia and accepted the position of Assistant Project Manager under Bill Muirhead, GM of Themed Retail Services in Hong Kong.  Initially TRS's main objective was to train local staff to manage and grow the Ocean Park Merchandise and Games departments. However in 1994, TRS client list grew to include the Peak Tower in Hong Kong, PT Seaworld Indonesia and Pasaraya Space Adventure in Jakarta. TRS also had consulting relationships with Royal Garden Resorts in Pattaya, Thailand. During this period, Dave was promoted to Director of Project Development. During the initial 6 year contract with Ocean Park, revenue would increase 380%.

In 1999, after a brief foray with Marine World Africa USA in Vallejo CA, Dave returned to his roots with Morey’s Piers in Wildwood New Jersey in the F&B Department. Over Dave’s five year stay with MCR Concessions, revenue increased 92% with profit increases of 260%.

From 2006 to 2014, Dave spent six seasons with Alabama Adventure and Splash Adventure in Birmingham, Alabama. During Dave’s first three years, park revenue increased by 26% and profit by 55%.

In 2014, Dave entered the consulting sector and started up Amusement Retail Resources.
